@boxingin There’s really only 2 ways of looking at it.
There’s your opinion. A no-name troll who can’t even respect someone’s musical ability (so clearly you don’t play guitar) says Mayer sucks.
Conversely, there’s the opinions of BB King, Clapton, Buddy Guy, and some of the most sought after studio musciians (among others) who have given Mayer rave reviews, and say he’s one of the best.
I guess you’re opinion trumps theres’?

@boxingin But don’t get me wrong, BB is by far a more influential and better guitarist but it doesn’t make John bad, i believe BB is the King, John is perhaps 10th in line to the throne.

@boxingin Obviously its a subjective matter and so really all we can do is agree to disagree
All i can say in his defence is that alot of people do really think he is fantastic including people like BB King, Clapton and Guy, they have endorsed him as one of the best up coming blues players. But if it’s not nice for you to listen to then who can argue with that, you are completely entitled to that point of view.

I have to say that, BB has an introspective, cool, calm sound. And John is like Holden Caulfield’s angst, aiming at audiences. I am a big fan of John, but his guitar is so noisy comparing to BB’s.

@DrBIues Perhaps crap is the wrong word. But as far as guitar playing goes I’m just not the impress with him, that’s all. You need to understand that I’m a spoil brat when it comes to guitar playing. I love Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, BB King, Buddy Guy, Charlie Patton, Eric Clapton, T-Bone Walker, Albert King, Freddie King, Al King, Gary Moore, Jose Feliciano, Roy Buchanan ect ect.. John Mayer is got a long way to go to become a decent guitar player let alone a great one. No offense.

thats right Johnny, talk about yourself for half an hour then start playing in the wrong key. i’m sorry, but, he’s not doing anything for blues. he’s as about as authentic as Status Quo. Only difference is they know they’re cheesy as hell. Mayer actually thinks he’s some kind of craftsman, ha, lols.

@boxingin If Mayer sucks at blues, then i encourage you to post a video of yourself playing better. If you don’t play guitar, then how the fuck can you honestly sit there and say he “sucks”? It’s one thing to say, it’s not my style, or to give constructive criticism, but he’s clearly at a level of guitar which pathetic trolls like you can only dream of.
Post a video of you playing the blues better. If not, you’re useless. Musicians don’t hate on each other, only fag trolls do that.

@beerbaron00 I guess you are very young..Stevie Ray is my favorite player and he came out in the early 80s..so like i said 30 years…since Stevie..Jack White doesnt play blues..how old are you???? wow…
