Nicely done. I’m a fingerstyle acoustic blues player who is still trying to master solo playing. It’s one thing to master a fingerstyle arrangement and a very different thing to be competent in a jam situation.

I also teach fingerstyle guitar on the side to beginner and intermediate players and I like your approach on this lesson. I signed up on your website and I’ll be checking out your DVDs. Thanks!

is there a certain thing besides the E scale that we should know before attempting to get this or can we go right into this after learning the e blues scale?

  15. ndbpma Says:

I can’t believe how easy you make this! I’ve been trying to wrap my head around soloing, even just basic stuff, for at least six months. You’ve just earned yourself a customer! Thanks so much!

totally awesome. saw this and ordered the blues DVD the day they went on sail, no I’m reduced to running after the mailman each day. not yet, ….it’s worse than waiting for Chiristmas and I hoping to get a Tayor or Maring for Chirstmas. I NEEEEEEEED these DVD! I’m a littlte stoked, thanks Marty.

Wow, this lesson was really great Marty! I somehow connected to everything I learned from your lessons before, and it suddenly opened my eyes! It really makes me smile now that I can play some blues :) Thanks!

Thanks so much for the guitar lessons! I had the same question as Bumbi1993. Can I move the pattern around to change keys. I get the major/minor concept, so if I start on 5th fret would it be in the key of A

  20. hamidfan Says:

Marty.. keep on teaching us.. you are amazing….

  21. rapid13 Says:

great stuff! if I ever get another job I am SO buying your acoustic blues set!

  22. prippropro Says:

    LOL @ the transcribed audio

  23. Bumbi1993 Says:

Can you play this using other roots, like if you start with G on the low e??

  24. fspinol0 Says:

after that its standard minor pentatonic shape starting from the 12th fret 6th string root. starting from the low e and going down it would be 12-15, 12-14, 12-14, 12-14, 12-15, 12-15. he also throws in a little 10th fret on the low e and the a. that’s about it from what i can tell.
