In the last four weeks, I have ordered (and received) and RETURNED both FENDER STARCASTER Guitar packages! The first one I opened up had missing accessories and a totally warped CD. Since I couldn’t return just the CD and receive a replacement, I had to send the entire package back. This was OK because Amazon folks were VERY helpful and I was not charged return shipping. The replacement FENDER STARCASTER set was received within a reasonable amount of time (at no charge to me) and THIS package had NO ACCESSORIES, the packaging itself was beat up and the guitar inside was haphazardly wrapped up and just set in the cardboard holder. It appeared to be used and the original FENDER box it came in wasn’t even new…it was taped shut. So, on to returns it went with my request for a full refund. This guitar wasn’t exactly a junky one either…….so what is the manufacturer’s problem?

It’s Christmas morning and my wife is very excited that I got her a guitar to learn to play. We opened the package and then played the DVD after reading the case that reads “On this DVD, an expert teacher will guide you through ALL (my emphasis) of the skills you need to get started today, from tuning to fingering and picking techniques to open-position and moveable chords.”

Yep, it has all of that BUT the tuning instructions!!!! OK, back to the internet to find tuning instructions…

I might update this later once we get it tuned.

My 14 year old son (who stands head & shoulders above me) loves this guitar. He just started out playing and it was birthday present time. I was worried about quality and making sure it was “full” size. It is, it’s great and he seems proud to refer to it as ” my Fender”. I was dependent on these reviews for my purchase…soooo, thank you Amazon !

This guitar is one step up from those kiddie guitars with the rubber bands for strings that you buy down in mexico, absolute junk.
