G7 capos are great, I have a regular model for my Martin 6-string guitar. But this 12-string model has a curved profile, and does not work for an absolutely flat fingerboard like is on my 1952 Guild 12-string. Too bad, because the capo metal is flat, but the hard rubber has a strong curve. I thought about filing the rubber down, but if it still did not work, and then I couldn’t return it.

This new type and design of capos, manufactued in England (and warranteed for life) is truly wonderful. Available in six and twelve string steel-string as well as a new classical version, they are all easy to use, solidly built and – perhaps most importantly, easy to put on and take off with one hand without having to retune! For a musician, this is the most cricial element (especially when we are talking about 12 strings) – that, and that it is ‘kind’ to the materials used in the manufacture of a good guitar. I use mine on a Taylor 355 and have had no problems whatsoever. A great move toward a new generation of capos! Not cheap – but worth every cent.

The capo was easy to move up and doen the neck, and the idea of not having to tighten was appealing, but to good to be true. It would hold for a few munites. I was constantly having to reset the pressure. I guess I’ll go back to my old capo.

FOR A CAPO TO COST 40.00, I FIGURED IT WAS TOP OF THE LINE. BUT IT DID NOT WORK VERY WELL ON MY TAKAMINE 12 STRING. MAYBE IT WAS JUST THE STYLE OF MY GUITAR. MOST OF THE STRINGS ENDED UP MUFFFLED. I ENDED UP BUYING A KYSER FOR ABOUT 15.00 AND IT WORKS GREAT.

Hey, I got this with a Dunlop capo for a 12 string Ibanez… I broke like 7 chinese cheape curved capos before than this.
This baby is good, but I use it only for the first fret, were no other capo can do it, and it takes maybe less than a minute but for sure not 10 seconds to place it properly. Usually, I place it like in the middle of the fret, thight it as much as I can, and then push it to the border so it gets more thight. And even then, sometimes the tiny 4th, 5th and 6th or one of the 1st don’t get properly done… takes some practice…
12 string guitar is a different world, but it is not easy for capos… and this is maybe the best I got for 1st fret… can use if for all the rest of the guitar, but just found Dunlop to be faster… anyway, this is not an exact science, just try it and keep the one you find the best for you. I keep both with me just in case.
