This mic does sound good and could pass for one if tweaked properly. That said, I used a basic black condenser that most likely was entry level MXL that I was unable to grab the correct make and model. That mic was a bit muddy and muffled unless tweaked properly and it works with EQ'ing. This mic was out of the box sharp and crisp. It does need a bit of a pre-amp and more than others. I find this mic to be great for podcasting (so far) professional quality audio with little sound engineering experience. <br /> <br />If you are very picky and know exactly what you want, please drop money on the more expensive and specific mics. <br />If you really aren't picky, do not use mics for one particular thing, and just want a cheaper mic that will get the job done nicely - this microphone is for you.
