mark is probably one of the greatest guitar players of all time, okay, not probably, he is. he’s musical genius, and a great guy….but i noticed one sort of funny thing in this video :S
he keeps saying things like “and you know the-guitar break-, and there’s the-another guitar break-, you get it?” if i wasn’t musically co ordinated, i would’v been like ‘wtf?’ but yeah, he’s great, i just thought i picked up on soemthing funny is all ^^

@zednoraa you will probably have heard dire straits – some famous tracks are romeo & juliet, money for nothing, brothers in arms

@MegaDutchdude I 100% agree with where you are coming from. My favorite is MK, but SRV is tough to beat.. MK does have a style and sound that is all his own and that is what make him great. I thank God that he will be around nearly as long as me. I do enjoy his music and his mind.

Nearly shat myself when I seen this video, MK was probably 80% responsible for my learning of the guitar, I didn’t touch a pick/plectrum until about 2 years into learning cos of him, no regrets, cheers MK!!

David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler are my two personal favs. Just love their unique individual tones
August 23rd, 2010 at 3:22 pm
i understand well enough thanks. i think he is the best guitarist in the world. if there were an objective way to test this i wouldn’t need to say i think he is. i think others are excellent but for me he is the best.

Great guitar player, classy guy. No pretense. No prima-donna ego. Just the coolest.

as a guitarist and fan of knopfler, this video is awesome for anyone learning guitar, he gets a lot of real useful tips in 6 and a half minutes.
