Never heard a better solo from him than this one. Especially the 2nd one.

You can’t imagine how much I respect this guy. He can virtually play every instrument on this planet, still sounds like he did 40 years ago, wrote most of his songs on his own, had hits in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s…WOW! Glad he’s coming to Germany in October. See you there Steve, I already got my tickets!

@poopkak46 Me too, Tampa! Like you said, he’s still got it.

@Ezwider109 … Nothing to do with Lennon. This song was written by Winwood and performed by Traffic more than 40 years ago….

@scribe3s I’ll take those guitarists over today’s “shredders” any day of the week. Hell, just about anyone can turn up the volume and distortion on an amp and just start shredding away; it takes real talent to play slow and easy.

@wolfwilliams I cannot agree more and more with you…

This is a perfect example why people of this generation learned to play guitar as they did: they had awesome idols. Today, we have guitarists that play (“shred”) faster than we even blink, which makes it so lame to even encourage anyone to take up the axe. I had page, Clapton, Beck, Winwood, Garcia, etc…….and though they were “slow” by today’s standard, and most admittedly so, they taught as they played……?

a tune… written about… john lennon

I prefer to see the boy on that Hammond B3, but his guitar work is superb, on a par with the best slingers around.

This is my all time favorite Steve Winwood song
