This is Schlagwerk’s 2inOne Snare Cajon Large. The resonance box is made of eight layers of birch wood, while the playing surface consists of beech wood. Additionally, it has 40 snare spirals. Optimally positioned, the snare wires produce a clear and distinctive but also easily controllable sound. The deep bass tone is what you have come to expect of the renowned Schlagwerk quality. The resonance box and playing surface have a natural finish that lets the beauty of the wood show through, and the playing surface has a refreshing and interesting design.

For more than 20 years, Schlagwerk Percussion has been intensively developing the cajon, which has become one of the most popular rhythm instruments. In designing their cajones, they combined traditional Cuban and Peruvian construction forms with some ideas of their own.

The 2inOne Snare Cajon has achieved a revolutionary synthesis between a drum set and a hand percussion instrument. The addition of internal snare spirals that contact the interior of the playing surface enables the 2inOne Cajon Snare to sound remarkably similar to a drum set, with the full bass and snare sounds. The snare spirals are extremely sensitive and the player is rewarded with a rich snare sound even at minimal volume. Basically, it is a drum set in a box but is much more portable.

The snare effect can also be removed by adjusting the snare spirals, making this cajon capable of producing entirely different sounds. It truly is two drums in one. Additionally, protective “feet” on the bottom serve to guard the cajon from damage while playing.
